Biskie Duncan, a well-known news figure in northwest Louisiana, is set to leave the Ark-La-Tex after an 11-year tenure. The anchor, who has been a familiar face on KSLA 12, made her departure public through a Facebook tribute posted on May 14. Duncan’s family is relocating to Omaha, Nebraska due to military orders, marking a significant life change for the Duncan family.
Reflecting on her time in Shreveport-Bossier, Duncan expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the experiences and connections she formed over the years. She noted that every moment spent in the community was cherished, highlighting the significant support she received from local viewers, especially during challenging days. Duncan’s final day on-air is scheduled for Friday, May 16, with viewers able to watch her during the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscasts.
Duncan’s journey began in 2014 when she moved to northwest Louisiana from Tennessee, following her husband’s assignment at Barksdale Air Force Base. During her time in the region, she became an integral part of the local media landscape. Initially, she worked at The River 957, where she served in every capacity and held the role of program director for several years. Duncan also made her mark as “Lady B” on the sister station, 98 Rocks, on weekends.
Her transition from radio to television came with her hosting duties on “Loving Living Local,” a show dedicated to showcasing local organizations and events. This role allowed her to connect with community members and share their stories, further solidifying her place in the hearts of viewers in the region.
Throughout her career, Duncan has demonstrated her commitment to community involvement.
